Like Chinese characters, they also form words, which have actual meanings in the Germanic language such as Fehu, which means “ cattle”. Runes were also used in documents, songs, poems, magic and divination, usually cut into jewelry and weapons for its protective powers. The word “Rune” actually means secret, whisper and mystery. Each Rune, apart from its literal meaning, has a story attached to it which is related to Norse mythology.

In contemporary times, although Runes are popularly used for divination purposes, it remains an exemplary achievement in written script, providing a fascinating insight into the world of an ancient people whose lives were uniquely ingrained in the harmony of nature and spirituality.
